Thornton’s previous roles include senior manager and advisor at Hydro Tasmania and executive officer at Renewable Energy Generators Australia, where he gained extensive experience in energy policy and leadership.
Thornton continues to lead the CEC, emphasising the acceleration of Australia’s transition to clean energy.
